This plan is available to international students and scholars on a J-1 visa who are participating in a program at a university. You must be actively engaged in academic or research activities and not have U.S. permanent resident status. Eligible dependents (spouse or children under 26) can also participate.
Enrollment is done online. Just visit our Global Care Enrollment Portal, select "J1 International" as your student category, and complete the secure checkout. Payment is required at the time of enrollment. No school approval is needed.
Coverage starts on the effective date you select during enrollment. You will receive a confirmation email along with your ID card once your application is processed and payment is received.
You will receive a digital ID card by email shortly after your enrollment is approved. You can also access your ID card 24/7 via the UHCSR MyAccount portal or mobile app.
